Blood Donation ? Why ?
for a needy patient having severe blood loss due to accident, during surgery, at the time of delivery etc. or a patient suffering from blood cancer, kidney disorder or any other disease. Moreover to create a new life in children suffering from Thalassemia ,Sickle Cell disease, Hemophilia etc.
I Don't have any blood to spare !

Hospital may throw away my blood !
Why should a blood bank throw away such a life saving "Sanjivani" obtained by taking great trouble. Only infected blood is generally discarded.

War between life and death is continuously going on in our hospitals at peacetime also.Why should you wait for the war ?
what do I gain by giving my blood ?
Immense satisfaction and pleasure as you save the life of an unknown human being ! What you have given today may be returned to you later on by others. Human body can easily tolerate the donation of excess blood,which will be destroyed after completion of self-life.
I gave once but when my relative needed blood we had to search for a donor !
Because of shortage of blood such an accident can happen, particularly when the patient has a rare blood group. But you do not have to search donor; it is responsibility of a blood bank staff to find a suitable donor.
I am busy !
The entire procedure of blood donation takes about 15 to 20 minutes whereas the actual blood donation requires only 5 to 7 minutes. If you think about all the good your blood donation can do, such as a new hope in somebody's home-saving a life of a bread earner, then you might decide that you are not busy after all.

Who else ? None other than you ! You can visit the nearest blood bank or even donate blood in the blood donation camp. Remember, there is no substitute to human blood.You have to donate your blood.
I am Insurance policy holder, paying premium regularly. I should get the blood without any charges !
The insurance scheme takes care of expenses of your illness, but currency notes can not be transfused in place of blood. Blood is not available in the chemist's shop , but in the blood bank.
I have not informed at home !
Don't you spend 2-3 hours in a movie theater without informing your family ? Then why do you need permission for such a meritorious deed ? Elders at home will be happy and felicitous for your humanitarian approach.

All types of blood units are required. Your blood group will be checked and you will be given a voluntary donor card after blood donation, on which your blood group will be mentioned.
